2. Let each son be x and each of daughters be y.
So for an x, x = y and that shows that there is one more x than y.
And for each y, x = 2y. This means x is even. This means that y is atleast 2.
Try y = 3 and x = 4 and the equation satisfies.
3. The train will actually have to travel 2 miles to pass completely through the tunnel so it will take 2 minutes.
4. Did you get tricked? The answer is 18th day. Since on 19th day its full, on 18th its half full.
5. This is slightly complicated but a diagram will help.

The distance between A and C is 6 miles. To do 6 miles the guy needs 30 minutes (6 miles/12 miles/hour). The man travels at 12 m/h so he does 1 mile every 5 minutes. Now he is delayed by 25 mins so he is delayed by 5 miles. So on a normal day the amount of time the guy does 1 mile in, the train does 6 miles. So the speed of train is 6 * 12 = 72 miles/hour
